About Us

It all started with a t-shirt. I bought a t-shirt and I got a catalog in the mail. Another t-shirt, another catalog. Pretty soon I had a stack of catalogs that made me question what was the source of all of these products. I started to research the brands and the companies behind them. I found that some of the brands were owned by larger companies, some were independent, and some were part of a larger conglomerate. I found that some brands were known for their quality, some for their style, and some for their price. I wanted to share what I learned with others, so I launched brandadvisor.com.

You'd be surprised how many brands there are.

There are brands for every size: petite, plus, and tall. There are brands for every age: kids, teens, adults, and even babies.

There are brands for every occasion: work, school, play, and special events. There are brands for every season: spring, summer, fall, and winter.

There are brands for every sport: running, cycling, swimming, and yoga. There are brands for every hobby: gardening, cooking, painting, and photography.

There are brands for every lifestyle: vegan, organic, eco-friendly, and sustainable.

How do we make sense of it all?

We need a guide, a map, it's kinda like we need a compass. We need an advisor.

But there’s something else, too.

There’s a feeling you get when you put on a piece from a brand you love. It’s not just about how it fits or how it looks—it’s about what it represents. Maybe it’s a connection to a certain place, a certain time in your life, or a group of people who just get it. These brands become part of our stories. They shape how we see ourselves, and how we show up in the world.

That’s why I started this site—not just to catalog brands, but to explore what they mean to us. This is a space for people who notice the details. Who care about craft. Who ask where things come from and why they matter.

Why do we choose one label over another? What inspires us to spend a little more, or to wait for that one perfect piece? What values are we buying into—style, durability, community, sustainability?

And what about the people behind the clothes? The energy it takes to make a single t-shirt, the resources, the labor, the transport. What does it really cost to bring that item into your hands?

These are the questions we ask here. This is a space for curiosity, conversation, and discovery. Whether you're a label loyalist or just beginning to notice the logos in your closet—welcome. You're in the right place.

So let’s talk about the stories woven into those seams.

Let’s celebrate the brands that stand for something—and question the ones that don’t or at least take a closer look. Let’s connect over the things we wear, and why we wear them.

Because clothing isn’t just what we put on—it's what we put out into the world. So let's unpack it all together, because it's more than fashion, it's meaning.
